Twenty-five years ago, Tim Fussell transformed and rebranded his mobile phone service and support company into a whole-of-business enterprise mobility and ICT services provider. The transformation focused on rebranding the company on the premise of “unlimited” managed mobility and managed IT services for large businesses. The decision to name the company imei was a nod to the International Mobile Equipment Identity acronym. This unique, 15-digit number is used to identify individual mobile phones and other devices on a network and neatly reflects the expertise that imei offers. This includes:

Hollywood A-lister connection
So, how does imei’s knowledge, services, and expertise in mobile technology and enterprise managed IT services connect with Hollywood A-listers?
In the case of Joaquin Phoenix and Saoirse Ronan, the answer lies in a case of phonetics (rather than mobile phones) playing a part in our company’s narrative. When Joaquin first lit up our screens, it wasn’t unusual to hear “Wah-kin” or heaven forbid, “Jow-akin" rather than “Wah-KEEN”. As for Saoirse? Only those schooled in Gaelic pronunciation rules would confidently pronounce “SEER-sha”.
