Every year, Gartner releases its Magic Quadrant for Managed Mobility Services which evaluates leading MMS technology providers on their completeness of vision and their ability to execute.

Widely regarded as the go-to guide for CIOs planning to outsource mobility management, Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for MMS research provides in-depth reporting on how technology providers ease management of day-to-day IT administration and support routines for mobile devices. The research also includes expense management, asset management and logistics, ordering, provisioning and help desk services.

Gartner divides companies into four quadrants: Leaders, Challengers, Visionaries and Niche Players, as detailed on Gartner’s website:

  • Leaders execute well against their current vision and are well positioned for tomorrow.
  • Visionaries understand where the market is going or have a vision for changing market rules.
  • Niche Players focus successfully on a small segment.
  • Challengers execute well today or may dominate a large segment.

Combining answers to hundreds of questions from interviews with a diverse range of people, the Magic Quadrant for Managed Mobility Services gives decision-makers a wide view of the relative positions of the market’s key players. Its detailed analysis of key trends, providers, and offerings is without peer, and serves to help executives first shortlist and then choose the right provider to meet their specific requirements.

GEMA recognised in Magic Quadrant

As a highly-influential industry analyst, and the world’s leading research and advisory firm, doing well on the Gartner Magic Quadrant serves as important recognition for technology providers. So, we’re delighted that our international alliance partner Switzerland-based Global Enterprise Mobility Alliance (GEMA), featured prominently in this year’s Magic Quadrant for Managed Mobility Services, alongside such as industry giants as IBM, Fujitsu, MOBI, DMI, Telefónica, and Orange.

Made up of a group of the world’s leading enterprise mobility service organisations like imei, GEMA provides enterprise mobility managed services for multinational organisations. Through its network of in-country experts, GEMA is able to offer global mobility services for the deployment, support, and management of a global mobile workforce.

Allied with GEMA since 2018, this partnership enables the team at imei to back our clients’ changing business needs, and support the global mobile workforce with our MMS and Enterprise Mobility Management expertise – regardless of geographic location or the device of choice in over 120 countries.

In the report, GEMA was positioned as one of just two niche players in the MMS space. For Gartner, niche players are typically emerging service providers and specialists with more-focused service portfolios. For imei, this positioning promises to be a vital first step in GEMA’s journey to becoming recognised as an industry leader.

In fact, we’ve been in discussions with GEMA at the annual licensee conference in Europe just this week to put the finishing touches on our plans to work with them over the coming 12 months. As this involves our emergence in major markets overseas, I’ll be posting more news about this in the coming weeks.
