Sydney, Australia, 18/01/2018 - imei and BTAS have today announced the planned merger of their business operations to offer a managed mobile and unified communications solution to the enterprise market. imei will acquire the BTAS assets, people and customer contracts and the merged business will operate under the imei brand.

BTAS, founded in 1993, provides intelligent enterprise–grade communications that boost productivity, supercharge collaboration, and keep the organisation connected. Its rich heritage in unified communications and collaboration combined with long standing partnerships with Alcatel-Lucent, Aruba, HP, Mitel, Ruckus Wireless & Microsoft provide a market leading proposition.

“BTAS provides an exciting opportunity for imei to strengthen and extend its service offering in enterprise mobility, communication and collaboration” explains Tim Fussell, founder and CEO of imei. “With a range of high profile clients, the acquisition of BTAS supports our strategy to lead the market & meet the future requirements for a single provider to manage all mobile and unified communications”.

Gavin Jones, founder and CEO of BTAS also commented “imei’s acquisition of BTAS provides a major growth opportunity for both our businesses through an extended service offering for our clients. As organisations begin their transition to a true mobile unified communication and collaboration solution, we will be best positioned to support them on that journey” Gavin will join imei as head of the Unified Communications division within imei.

The expanded business will serve 150+ enterprise and government organisations across Australia and will manage 150,000+ communication endpoints.

The parties expect definitive agreements to be completed by 28 February 2018 and the operations and staff of BTAS transferred to imei’s Headquarters in Frenchs Forest shortly thereafter.
