Sydney, Australia, 27 June 2025 - imei Launches Australia’s First xIoT Managed Security Service

Media Release:

imei has partnered with Phosphorus Cybersecurity to launch imei IoT Protect, Australia’s first xIoT managed service built on Phosphorus Intelligent Active Discovery, which enables safe, accurate, and rapid discovery of all xIoT (extended Internet of Things) devices on a network, remediates vulnerabilities, and ensures compliance.
As the number of connected IoT devices surges – estimated between 27 and 75 billion globally – organisations face growing cybersecurity threats from the xIoT. These connected devices, from smart lighting and environmental sensors to security cameras and access systems, often go unmanaged, leaving organisations vulnerable.

imei IoT Protect is a fully managed, modular service that includes comprehensive discovery to identify xIoT device on your network; automated remediation that can fix misconfigurations, replace default credentials, and patch vulnerabilities; compliance assurance to brings xIoT devices into alignment with security policies and standards; and ongoing monitoring and management.

“As the number of connected devices continues to explode, so too does the complexity of securing them,” said Tim Fussell, CEO and Founder of imei. “imei IoT Protect gives businesses the visibility and control they need to protect their networks and data - without adding operational overhead.”

“Phosphorus is proud to partner with imei to bring our xIoT security platform to the ANZ market,” said Brett Raphael, President Global Field Operations at Phosphorus. “Together, we’re helping organisations eliminate blind spots and take control of their growing xIoT environments.”

With xIoT devices accounting for up to 30% of an organisation’s attack surface, imei IoT Protect managed service helps organisations stay ahead of threats with minimal internal effort.  imei IoT Protect is a fast deployment service, generally up and running within 2 weeks and is available now.
